The Slack integration connects your Arca workspace to a Slack channel so your team receives real-time notifications whenever key task events happen, without leaving Slack.

Requirements

You must be an Admin or Owner of the Arca workspace to connect and configure Slack. You also need permission to install apps in your Slack workspace, or you can ask a Slack admin to approve the installation.

Connect Slack

1

Open Integrations settings

In Arca, click your workspace name in the top-left, then go to Settings → Integrations.
2

Open the Slack integration

Find the Slack card and click it.
3

Authorize the app

Click Connect. This opens the Slack authorization page in your browser. Choose the Slack workspace you want to connect, then click Allow.
4

Choose a channel

After authorization, you’re taken back to the Slack settings page. Use the Channel dropdown to select the channel where notifications should be posted.
Only channels the Arca bot has been invited to will appear in the list. Public channels are available automatically. For private channels, first run /invite @Arca inside that channel, then refresh the page in Arca to see the updated channel list.
5

Select events

Check the event types you want to receive notifications for (see Notification events below).
6

Save

Click Save configuration. Arca will start posting notifications to the selected channel immediately.

Notification events

You choose which events trigger a Slack notification. Each message includes the event details and a View task button that opens the task directly in Arca.
EventTriggered when
Task createdA new task is created in the workspace
Status changedA task’s status is updated
AssignedA task is assigned to a team member
CommentedA new comment is posted on a task
Priority changedA task’s priority level is updated
Due date changedA task’s due date is modified

Manage private channels

Slack restricts bot access to private channels for security reasons. A private channel will not appear in the channel picker unless the Arca bot has been explicitly invited. To add a private channel:
  1. Open the private channel in Slack.
  2. Type /invite @Arca and send the message.
  3. Go back to Settings → Integrations → Slack in Arca (or refresh the page if already there) and click the channel dropdown. The channel will now appear.

Disconnect Slack

To remove the Slack integration from your workspace:
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. Confirm the action.
Disconnecting removes the bot from your workspace and stops all Slack notifications. Your configuration (selected channel and events) is also deleted and will need to be set up again if you reconnect.
Only Admins and Owners can disconnect the Slack integration. Disconnecting affects the entire workspace, all members will stop receiving Slack notifications.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you have selected at least one event type and clicked Save configuration, chosen a channel the Arca bot is a member of, and performed an action in Arca that matches an enabled event type.If the bot was recently invited to the channel, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.
The Arca bot can only see channels it has been invited to. For private channels, run /invite @Arca inside the channel first, then refresh the page in Arca and open the channel dropdown.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting. If the issue persists, the bot token may have been revoked from the Slack side. Visit Slack → Settings → Manage Apps and check if Arca still has an active installation.
