Statuses represent the stages of your team’s workflow. When tasks move through statuses, everyone can see the state of work at a glance, without needing to ask “is this done yet?”

Manage statuses

Open Settings

Go to Settings > Statuses.

Add a status

Click Add status.

Name it, pick an icon and color

Choose a name, icon, and color. Colors make statuses scannable at a glance; for example, green for completed, red for blocked.

Reorder to match your workflow

Drag statuses up or down to set the order they appear in status selectors.

Status categories

Every status belongs to a category that controls how Arca groups and displays tasks:

In progressWork actively being done
CompletedWork that is finished
CancelledWork that was dropped

Design a workflow that fits your team

Start simple. A common setup that works for most teams:
  • To do (Pending)
  • In progress (In progress)
  • In review (In progress)
  • Done (Completed)
Add more statuses only if your team will actually use them. Too many workflow stages create friction instead of clarity.
Use consistent colors so status is readable in lists and boards without having to read the label each time.
