Recurrence options
Frequency and interval
Choose how often the task should repeat:| Frequency | Example |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every 1 day, every 2 days, etc. |
| Weekly | Every 1 week, every 2 weeks, etc. |
| Monthly | Every 1 month, every 3 months, etc. |
| Yearly | Every 1 year |
Every 2 Weeks repeats once every two weeks.
Day of week (weekly only)
When you choose Weekly, you can pick specific days of the week for the task to repeat on. You can select multiple days. For example, Monday and Wednesday for a mid-week check-in.End date
An end date is required for every recurring task. Set it in the recurrence picker to control when the series stops. After the end date, no new occurrences are generated.Trigger on completion
Enable this option to create the next occurrence when you complete the current one rather than on a fixed calendar schedule. This is useful for tasks where the interval should start from when you finished the last one. For example, “Follow up with client 7 days after the last call.”When Trigger on completion is enabled, the next occurrence is created as
soon as you mark the current task complete. The recurrence frequency and
interval still control how far in the future the new task is due.
How recurring tasks appear
Each occurrence of a recurring task appears as a regular task in your lists and views. You can identify recurring tasks by the repeat icon shown on the task card. When you open a recurring task, the Task Details panel shows the recurrence schedule (e.g., “every week on Monday”).Edit a recurring task
When you edit a recurring task, Arca asks you which occurrences to apply the change to.- This occurrence
- This and following
- All occurrences
Only the current instance is changed. All other past and future occurrences remain unchanged.Choose this when you need a one-time exception to the usual schedule or content.
Skip an occurrence
If you don’t need a particular occurrence but still want the series to continue, you can skip it. Open the task, scroll to the Recurring section in the Task Details panel, and click Skip this occurrence. The current instance is dismissed and the next scheduled occurrence appears as expected.Remove recurrence
To stop a task from repeating, click the remove (×) icon next to the Recurring label in the Task Details panel. Arca asks you which occurrences to remove.| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| This occurrence | Removes just this instance from the series. The series continues as normal. |
| This and following | Deletes this and all future occurrences. Earlier instances are kept. |
| All occurrences | Deletes every instance in the series, including past ones. |
